Suddenly Paul has been inspired to...begin?...continue?...finish? projects started 4 or more years ago. It's flipped me out a little bit because it came so suddenly and unexpectedly and he's actually finishing the projects he has started. I actually asked him if he was really sick and wanted to make sure some things were done and this was his way of telling me. He laughed at me, saying he just finally had time (no school work) and he wanted to get things done.
He bought this beautiful mirror for $29 last spring and it had sat in the entryway (on the floor) for over 7 or 8 months. Paul hung it over the mantle with Josh's help Christmas day. I need some help determining how to finish off the mantle (flowers, wall pieces, candles, etc.), so please email me your suggestions! It makes the living room look bigger, believe it or not!
This is my kitchen window that overlooks our back yard and driveway. While it may not look impressive to many, it doesn't have nail holes and it has 1 coat of Linen White paint on it! Paul need to finish putting caulk in joints before it will be considered 100% done! (The cats are furious because they detest the smell and this is their favorite window to sun and watch birds!)
This is the window that replaced the sheet of plywood that covered a full length window we took out in the dining area when we put in the laundry room on the other side. The window matches the glass in the door we put in a few years ago. It, too, has been primered and painted and awaiting its second coat of paint!
This is the laundry room side of the decorative window. Paul used wainscot to do the back of the shelves and made shelves from MDF, covering with shelf paper! I need to paint the side trim and the window trim white and this will be 100% finished!
My laundry room door that enters into the dining area. Paul took out the original glass and replaced it with decorative glass. He has had to make his own window trim (purchased yesterday morning) to finish it off. Note, however, that there this trim on both sides of the door! (This is what Lauren helped me primer.)
But this is the BEST part...I HAVE A THRESHOLD IN MY HOUSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is the ONLY one I have right now (but two more are prepared for the living room to the kitchen!!) and it made my DAY when I saw this!!!!!!!!!
I am SO proud and grateful to my hard-working husband. His motivation has helped me to get motivated to help more, too. (I have discovered that I'm happy with happy people, energetic with energetic people, cranky with cranky people, and into home remodeling when Paul is helping me along!) I hope to post more of our projects or completion as we get there!!
