Wade Remodeling...Continues again!

Suddenly Paul has been inspired to...begin?...continue?...finish? projects started 4 or more years ago.  It's flipped me out a little bit because it came so suddenly and unexpectedly and he's actually finishing the projects he has started. I actually asked him if he was really sick and wanted to make sure some things were done and this was his way of telling me.  He laughed at me, saying he just finally had time (no school work) and he wanted to get things done.
He bought this beautiful mirror for $29 last spring and it had sat in the entryway (on the floor) for over 7 or 8 months.  Paul hung it over the mantle with Josh's help Christmas day.  I need some help determining how to finish off the mantle (flowers, wall pieces, candles, etc.), so please email me your suggestions!  It makes the living room look bigger, believe it or not!
This is my kitchen window that overlooks our back yard and driveway.  While it may not look impressive to many, it doesn't have nail holes and it has 1 coat of Linen White paint on it!  Paul need to finish putting caulk in joints before it will be considered 100% done!  (The cats are furious because they detest the smell and this is their favorite window to sun and watch birds!)
This is the window that replaced the sheet of plywood that covered a full length window we took out in the dining area when we put in the laundry room on the other side.  The window matches the glass in the door we put in a few years ago.  It, too, has been primered and painted and awaiting its second coat of paint!
This is the laundry room side of the decorative window.  Paul used wainscot to do the back of the shelves and made shelves from MDF, covering with shelf paper!  I need to paint the side trim and the window trim white and this will be 100% finished!
My laundry room door that enters into the dining area.  Paul took out the original glass and replaced it with decorative glass.  He has had to make his own window trim (purchased yesterday morning) to finish it off.  Note, however, that there this trim on both sides of the door!  (This is what Lauren helped me primer.)
But this is the BEST part...I HAVE A THRESHOLD IN MY HOUSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is the ONLY one I have right now (but two more are prepared for the living room to the kitchen!!) and it made my DAY when I saw this!!!!!!!!!
I am SO proud and grateful to my hard-working husband.  His motivation has helped me to get motivated to help more, too.  (I have discovered that I'm happy with happy people, energetic with energetic people, cranky with cranky people, and into home remodeling when Paul is helping me along!)  I hope to post more of our projects or completion as we get there!!

Christmas Comes MANY Times for the Wades!

December 15--Paul had a student teaching meeting in Boone, NC, so on our way back, we passed Doc's Gem Mining.  Paul made me turn the car around so he and Lauren could mine!  (They are crazy but love it!)
 Rose Quartz!!
December 16--Our church has an annual Birthday Party for Jesus for the little kiddos.  Our Sunday school class always helps out.  On the way down to the party from the sanctuary, Chatham and Lauren found this box and dove in!
Lauren and Chatham making our puffy Christmas tree tree ornaments!  (Glue, shaving cream, and food coloring!)
Mrs. Amanda telling the Christmas Story.
 The kiddos listening and participating.
Christmas Eve: If you have been following my posts on Facebook, you will know there is a theme of finishing projects going on.  Lauren got so irritated with us working that she kept asking to help.  I told her to put on old clothes (she grabbed her Home Depot apron, too!) and she helped me primer the door trim for the laundry room!  She did a fabulous job!  Not a single spot of paint on her body or clothes.  No primer on the floor!
Lauren drew a picture of Rudolph to go with her note to Santa.  She left kiss cookies and chocolate milk this year!
Christmas morning: I was the first up, Paul second, and Lauren LAST!  Our tradition at home is to work on our stockings first.  Paul made Lauren wait until he was done making Monkey Bread for breakfast and a dessert for Christmas dinner with my brother, Shelly, and Logan.  Lauren was SO patient!
Head phones, AC adapter, and skin cover for her Leap Pad
 Barbie doll furniture!!
 What's this?  Could it be?
 AN EASEL!!!
December 26: Paul and Devin headed to Gaffney to look at sheds for Devin's outdoor equipment.  Carrie needed crafty help (not sure why she asks me, but okay!) so we headed to Hobby Lobby.  Got a LOT of great after Christmas deals and the  kids had a blast with the sword fight!

Then I get a phone call from Paul that his parents were at the house!  Already?  At 1:30 PM?  In a snow storm?  They left at 3:30 am and drove straight down to us!  (Those Wade grandparents will make the post office look bad in trying to get to their little Lauren!)  When they came, they brought SO many gifts from SO many people!
A color the castle from Aunt Ivy and Uncle David!  ("I've always wanted that!" She never knew it existed till she saw it!)
A super cool vest from Aunt Sherry and Uncle Luke (and princess things and lip gloss and spray mist and candy and cute star and owl shirts and a princess coffee mug and a professional easel and board for her art and I know I missing some other things!).
An Easy Bake Oven (that Grandma Wade never got but ALWAYS wanted and made me PROMISE before I conceived Lauren that SHE would be the one to buy it!!) with several food kids like brownie pops and pizza and pretzels!
LOVE the princess stocking from Aunt Sherry and Uncle Luke!
A fun wind up inch worm from Great Grandma Williams (Mommy wants one, too!)
A Steelers snowman snow globe from Grandpa Wade to go with the Jingle Bells bear snow globe and the light up Christmas tree snow globe from Grandpa this year...

Then Kay and I took Lauren to the mall to shop.  Lauren dropped before we did, but we got a fashion show in Sears!

And FINALLY after about 4 or 5 hours at the mall, had to stop at the kids play area (YUCK!!!) but relented because she had been SO good and needed to release energy...and we see FRIENDS Callie and Carmen there, too!  It was even better!!
What a fun day!  Now back home to ride her new John Deere bike she got from Grandma and Grandpa Wade!  Talk about one SPOILED KID!  I forgot to mention the 4 packages she received in the mail from Aunt Missy (Glitter Body Art), from Great Grandma and Grandpa Ryan in Arizona (a reindeer Snow Baby that has now joined Jesus in the manger...) and 2 from Aunt Brenda.  The first package was Silly Baff that turns your bath into these funky watery beads.  The second was a Make Your Own Candle kit (right up her alley!) and a loom for making pot holders (which I had as a kid!).  Again, SPOILED!!!  And well loved.  She has a LOT of thank you notes to write!

Lauren's 5 year old pictures

No words are really needed.  Thank you, Jeff, from Jeff Bogle Photography, for your images!
