The S's of September

Soccer--Lauren's Green Comets had their first game on  Sept. 21!  She was so excited to play!
Carrie and Chatham came to support our girl!  Then Chatham stayed the night with us!  Family picture!
Lauren is number 41.  She was pretty ticked that she wasn't #5.
Nate plays on another team, but we're still friendly!
After the games, the kids played outside for a few hours.  Lauren drove the gator and Chatham LOVED the 4-wheeler.  I kept telling Carrie I figured it would be his next request...and it was, along with a pink 4-wheeler for Lauren "when she comes to play".  How funny!
Lauren had been in daycare all day because I had had a workday earlier.  They made bird feeders from ice cream cones, peanut butter, bird seed, string, and Popsicle sticks!  (Then we had torrential rains and I found it on the ground tonight in a big mushy mess.  I didn't tell Lauren!)
Sept. 22--Another game!  Nate had a habit of "falling" every time the whistle blew.  Kim and I did a functional behavior analysis and determined that when the whistle blew, Nate thought he had to fall on the ground for the play to be over because he has watched a lot of football and that is how football plays end!
Sept. 28--Kay and Charlie, with friends, popped in for a 15 hour stay!  We hadn't told Lauren a think because she would have driven us nuts!  They knocked on the door, Lauren was stunned, and then we all laughed!
Lauren took this picture of Kay and Charlie!
 Family Hug!
Sept. 29--Lauren had another game (Harris is right behind her, number 40!) today.  We had VERY heavy rains and were assuming that the game would be cancelled, but the field wasn't bad at all!  Lauren was super excited to have her grandparents there to watch her!  Big Dan and Big Mama (Harris' grandparents) were there, too!  (By the way, I could NOT find Lauren's second soccer sock, so look for the hot pink socks to see her!)

Lauren and I were SO sad when the Grandparents Wade left at 11:00.  We cried then went to a party downtown for a cupcake celebration!  We did a cake walk (no winning), had her face painted (lady bug), made an owl craft (that I lost), and had a balloon puppy made!  The culminating activity was to decorate and eat your own cupcake!  Lauren ate that treat so fast I didn't see her chew!  We had a hot dog lunch then walked around some shops in Conover.  I have found a LOT of cute gifts for the family in our shops for Christmas!
Sept. 20--Our district supports our kindergarteners with water safety by having them take a 3 week swimming course at the YMCA.  The kids are bused there to swim.  Lauren and Nate are in the same kinder class.  Nate's mom, Kim, was able to pop in to get pictures for us of the kids!

Let's dive!  (What a great blackmail photo for the teen years!)
 Splash!
Ameria is another friend from her class.  I got to meet her at the cupcake celebration!
Sept. 21-- Carrie took a picture of the Wade clan.  (The blog didn't want me to post anything in order tonight.  I was lucky I got to post anything at all!)

Sept. 29--A new store called Academy Sports opened up in Hickory and had huge grand opening events.  One of the events was cat fishing.  Lauren's fish was 15.5" long!  Notice she didn't hold the fish on her own.  After begging to go fishing and wanting her own pink pole, she was bored pretty quickly.  She still wants that pink fishing pole!

Swiping Photos from Friend's Blogs

I've been slack in stalking my friend's blogs lately.  In catching up, I found a LOT of GREAT pictures on Carrie's blog, so here are the ones I have stolen!  (Thanks, Carrie!)  I even found a few on Suzy's blog from when she did a "sneak post" session!!  (Thanks, Suzy!)
August 16--Lauren's birthday and the annual Parade Day.  Our patriotic kids!
Chatham and me--I've become his "protector" since a run-in a few weeks prior when I saved him from Conrad the Crawdad.  (He has enormous fear of people in animal costumes!)
Thank you, Troops!!
August 18--Happy Birthday, Nick!  Thanks for taking one for me!  My shins were killing me after having Limp Noodle (AKA Lauren!) skate around!
Mommy taking one for Lauren!
Lauren, Harper, Mary Grace--isn't this a great picture?
Labor Day--Swimming at Jeanmarie's (Carrie's neighbor).  We've had SO much fun in her pool!
The 2nd Sunday in September--Suzy and I teach Sunday School those days.  She took an instagram of us.  We look pretty good!
September 8--Science Center!

August, September, Christmas?

August 18--Happy 7th birthday, Nick!  We celebrated at Skateland USA.  Lauren was hesitant to skate, so Harris, the best friend, took her hand to help out!
August 22--Lauren has been asking to play soccer, so I got her signed up!  Here are her teammates at this point in time.
 Stretching before drills
August 24--Harris and Lauren are on the same team, so I brought him home to play.  He LOVED the four-wheeler!  Notice LAUREN is driving him around.  What a big progression from when Harris had to drive the gator all the time!
August 26--Lauren required some equipment so we spent an afternoon checking out cleats, shin guards, socks, mouthpieces, balls...and she LOVES to pull the socks all the way up!

Lauren and I were running late one morning.  In my haste to put things in the truck, I did a quick glance, jumped, and realized Girl Kitty was camouflage in our mulch.
Lauren has taken to catching fire flies in our front yard.  After putting me through drills for soccer practice, we went after the glowing bottom insects.  We caught 7!
August 31--Lauren insisted that she and Paul get a picture taken for Paul's first day of school!  His final semester of classes has him in a KINDERGARTEN class!  He is learning about Letterland and tangrams so far.
I needed a craft for us to do, so we are painting clay pots to look like candy corn!  We will send them into Lauren's class for October gifts for her teachers.

September 8--We had a play date with Chatham and Harper to the Science Center. Lauren and Chatham were all over and I didn't get pictures of them.
Lauren and I went to Kinzley's 1st birthday party!  They were so excited to see one another!  Isn't that  a great picture?
 Kinzley and her mommy, Ashley
Lauren made a new BFF, Brooklyn, who is a year older.  They were inseparable the 2 hours we were there!
 Let's ride!
September 15--Suzy, Cara, Lauren, and I had a girls morning shopping after Lauren had a sleepover with Cara the night before at Suzy's house.  (The kids slept in the play room.  Suzy was woken up at 1:45 am as the girls were "making dinner" in the play kitchen.  They went to bed after that.)  Lauren had a GREAT time and they girls asked when the next sleepover would be!  I had to get new pants and we needed to make a Target run for party supplies for Harris.  Lauren begs to ride in the cart with the kids' seats.  After this trip, she decided it wasn't for her.
