Discovery Kids, Cara's 2nd Birthday

January 21--TOO CUTE!!

January 22--Carrie got us all together (Wades, Cadwalladers, and Donleys) to go to the Discovery Kids Museum in Huntersville.  It was ALL kid-sized, adult-fun for all!  There was so much to see and do!

Lauren checking her patient's heart as he was transported by ambulance...
Nick checking B.P...Harris ready to move the patient to the hospital...
A REAL fire truck that the kids could explore!  Look!  Nick, Harris, and Lauren, racing to the scene!
Cheese, Mommy!
"I'll drive, Lauren!  Look out!!"

The animal clinic!  There were x-rays of animals, animal cages with toys and water bowls, stethescopes, microscopes.  You name it!

A fire pole!  Lauren LOVED it!  (I looked like a striper on it...)
Time to visit the pediatrician!  Lauren checks baby's ears and nose.
Cara listens to her heart.
An indoor rock climbing wall!  Lauren liked it once she got the hang of it!
Harris loved it, too.
A diner complete with kitchen, sink, cash register, mirocwave, oven, a display case!  The kids loved this the most, I think.
Pizza anyone?
Let me stick this cheese up front.
Captain Nick.  Ahoy!
Harris and Lauren steered the sub.
Art center--Lauren loved the play-doh and letter cut-outs.
And of course she found her letter--L!
I'm going to drive like Daddy...
Or maybe change tires like he does!
At the airport, Lauren was the baggage handler and tried to get Harris, Chatham, and Cara to their destination on time.  Cara was worried the plane would leave without her!

And to finish up January, Lauren's new-found favorite thing are hair bands!  She loves 1 or 10 at the same time!
Dressed up in her Steelers uniform to cheer our guys on throught the Championship game!
January 29--Cara turned 2 on Feb. 2, but we had her party a little early.  Theme--Ladybugs.  Toys--Inflatables!  Here is Chatham deciding if he liked it or not...the vote was not so much.  Had to bribe him so that I could get pictures for Carrie who was home with the flu!!
 Suzy and the Birthday Girl!
 Happy Birthday to you!
 Happy Birthday Dear Cara!
 I loved the cupcakes, Paul!

It took a lot to keep the kids 4 and under away from Cara's gifts.  They wanted to unwrap, too.
 OOH~!  Bathtub toys!
Time to head home!  Bye, Chatham!  Thanks for celebrating with me!
Can you spot the Abernethy kids in the maze?

We are ready to see the Steelers play in the Super Bowl this weekend!  Go Steelers!!!
