Football Time!

August 21--Lauren just looked too cute! We were getting cleaned up to go to Nick's 5th birthday party at the Pin Station!
Here were the requested Scooby Doo cupcakes Paul made for Nick.  Happy Birthday!
Lauren loved playing with Chatham and Cara!
Carrie and Chatham after Chatman bowling!
Lauren wanted Daddy to help her bowl.
Paul had to bribe her to bowl with me!
Lauren and Harris got a little grumpy until Paul brought them nachos!
As it was the Saturday before the first day of school, Suzy was in need of me to keep Harris for the afternoon after the party.  Lauren, of course, was thrilled.  Harris was ecstatic! We got out the gator.
Buster was tickled pink to have some company out in the yard!
Lauren helped drive the gator home.  The battery needed to be charged.
I cringe when I look in my driveway...the blue Ford was one Paul purchased as a parts truck to sturdy up the black Ford.  Oh, yes.  That would be how Paul "fixed" the "air conditioning" on the black Ford...Redneck took off the doors!  (Yes, I'm thoroughly embarrassed.)
A better shot of the doorless truck
The kids were ready for an icy pop break, and since neighbor David was mowing the lawn, the kids took him a blue icy pop to help cool off.  Harris had quite the conversation with David.
We started to poop out after our playing outdoors (and by 'we', I mean 'me').  The kids wanted to watch a movie with popcorn.  Lauren was hooked...Harris' attention wavered quickly.
Eyelids drooped, so I put the kids to bed...and when I went to check on them, they had caught their second winds and were wrestling!
Harris adored Lauren's polka-bot boots and Lauren decided it was okay to share.  (Harris has a shoe fetish.)
Uncle Paul SOLD THE JEEP--and now it is REALLY GONE!  Before it was gone, Paul had to take a few pictures.  Harris wanted a short ride...
Then they both got a ride.  Lauren is now sad that the Jeep is gone.  She told Paul that he needed to buy another Jeep next summer.  Today Lauren told Paul that he needed to get a purple Jeep.
Wardrobe change!  Harris swapped the polka-bot boots for Lauren's plastic princess shoes.
Lauren went to use the potty, but she decided to read her Bible to her baby.
Harris was proud that he remembered to wash his hands after using the potty!
On Sunday, we noticed that we had an enormous spider weaving a web between the front patio and my flower bed.  Paul said that they are called either a garden spider or a writing spider.
After my first week of school, I needed to get out of town and shop!  Paul went camping with Justin, so Shelly, Logan, Lauren and I went to SC to shop.  We found some okay deals and I got a new pair of sneakers.  Lauren wanted to ride the pony...not for 75 cents a short ride!
Before bed that night, Lauren took out all of her shoes from her drawer, arranged them in pairs in an arch, and then put them neatly back into her drawer.  This is her, not me!
We're ready for some foot-ball!!!  Lauren's Steelers cheering uniform still fits!  We were so excited!
Lauren and Daddy ready for football!
Family shot--completed with Polamalu and Ward jersies.
I was on the floor, watching the game.  Lauren got on my back, said, "Mommy, where's your boy?  Where's 8...6.  Mommy, where's 8-6?"  I nearly died...then she actually found him on the screen, hollaring, "Mommy, there's your boy!  8-6!"

On Saturday, September 4, I took Lauren and Logan to Tweetsie.  On our way home on Friday, Lauren said that she wanted to go.  Since Josh and Shelly were going to be busy Saturday, I took the kids!  We left at 9:15 and when we got up to the mountains, we were all wearing shorts, T-shirts, and sandals...at abour 55-60 degrees!  Back down to Blowing Rock to the Gap to buy sweatshirts...they were on sale, too!
First Tweetsie stop...JAIL!
Logan was happy at the teepee.
Lauren, however, was not.  She had just fallen inside the teepee...
But a seat on the big horsies brought the grins back to Lauren's face!
We saw Tweetsie taking off.
Fed the goats.  Lauren got her cone too close to a goat's mouth and it was gone.  I warned her...
Logan was too tall to ride Lauren's rides, so he rode solo and LOVED the Tweetsie Twister!
Lauren met a new friend named Sunny.  They rode the planes and boat together.
While waiting for the Mouse Train, we saw our 3rd white caterpillar.  I've never seen one white before!  We've also seen more butterflies this year than in the past several years.
Logan, who claimed to be afraid of heights, did great for his first ferris wheel ride!
Sunday morning before church, Lauren demands that I take her picture.
Labor Day!  Paul had a list of errands we needed to run.  First stop...Northern Tool.  Lauren loved the hitch covers of deer.  She rearranged the display so that it was organized and kissed the deer.  She looked at me and said, "He wanted his mommy," shaking her head in a knowing way.
Great Grandma and Grandpa Ryan in Arizona sent Lauren some fun money for her birthday.  We got Lauren some doll furniture for the house Mrs. Campbell gave to her!  Lauren chose the nursery.
I really should realize that I need to post more often.  I know that I have missed telling SO many Lauren stories...as they come, I'll relay them!
