Spring is Sprung!!

March 12--Continuing on the Mickey Mouse infatuation, I had to snap a few pictures of Lauren watching, what else? Mickey Mouse!  Lauren's also been choosing one of her toys or babies to stay with for a few days at a time.  These few days was Mr. Bear.

March 15--BIG GIRL POTTY!!!!!  As I have gotten in the habit of doing, I ask Lauren a few times an hour if she needs to potty on the big girl potty, and sometimes I get a yes.  Lauren has been trying to use the potty, but we have not had any luck.  Well, on Monday, I asked, Lauren said yes, and then she REALLY DID PEE on the potty!!  We did so many happy dances!!

Lauren peed on the potty 4 times and pooped on the potty twice!  We were totally amazed and thrilled!!

However, Lauren hasn't used the potty since...we had to fight to get her to even TRY to sit on the potty. So we have backed off.

March 19--We have LOVED this beautiful weather we have had these few days!  Lauren and I got home and played outside for a few hours.  We were all over the place--the neighbor's house, playing with Buster, pulling weeds, visiting the fish, riding bikes...you name it, we did it!  Notice Lauren holding Baby, her new favorite, getting ready for her first ride down the slide!
And swinging...

...and strolling along...
...and taking a walk down the hill!
March 20--I asked Lauren to try to potty on the big girl potty.  She said, "I was a sweet treat, Mommy."  I told her, "If you want a sweet treat, you have to pee on the potty."  Lauren had ideas of her own...

She went to the bathroom to get her stool to try to get up the shelf to the sweet treats...
...no luck, so she tried to stretch better...
...and when that didn't work, Lauren said, "I know.  I get Mommy's chair to get a sweet treat!"  She then ran into the dining room and pushed my chair into the living room...
...to no avail.  I was shocked that she didn't climb the shelves...she still has time...

M-I-C-K-E-Y...M-O-U-S-E!!!

Mickey Mouse has been VERY much present in our house...dolls, DVR shows, "mouse cheese", eating/drinking utensils...most recently, we added Minnie Mouse panties and Minnie Mouse pajamas!!!  Lauren was VERY excited to model her new pj's for me.  (Notice her straw cup--purple Minnie Mouse!)
I have been (slowly) working on making Lauren's room more toddler-ish.  Lauren loves polka-dots, so I repainted her letters.  Aren't they fun?  It took me a while to find what I wanted to do.  I also found her a purple flower comforter at Target that worked great into my scheme...
Then I ACTUALLY got her to pose for me!  Look at that grin!
I got even CLOSER!!  (Everyone who has seen this picture has said, "Wow, Lisa!  She's certainly your clone!"
Have a great weekend!!

P.S. "Mouse Cheese" is Sargento cheese in the shape of Mickey Mouses's head!  Lauren has to have it when she watches the shows.  (You can find it at Wal-mart in the string cheese section for $1.66.)

End of February

February 25--Grandma Wade came to visit!  As usual, Lauren wanted to read with her.

February 26--Grandpa Wade came a little later.  Lauren insists on calling him Papa, but Grandpa Wade corrects her with "Grandpa Wade".  Lauren wrapped him around her little finger, and the two of them (plus Mickey Mouse) watched a few episodes of the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse (Lauren's favorite thing to do!).
February 27: Grandpa Wade helped Lauren pick up some of the dirt off the floor.  Lauren wasn't prompted.  She apparently thought that the house was messy, so she was doing her part!
She's into a backpack phase and puts on backpacks at various times.  She put on her barn boots and backpack.  When I asked where she was going, she said, "I go to Aunt Suzy's to see Chloe and Abby."
We went to Gaffney to the Prime Outlets to shop, shop, shop!  Lauren was ALL about shopping, especially for shoes!  She took off her shoes and started pulling boxes of shoes off the shelves and putting her feet in them!
OOH!  Purple Cara Shoes!!
"Mommy, can I get these, please??"
And of course, she has fallen in LOVE with rides.  We couldn't tell her no that she couldn't ride the little birdie.  She was pretty upset when it stopped.
I ran off to Gap for a quick tour around and left Lauren and Kay at the playground.  When I found the girls, they were climbing the monkey bars.  (Appropriate, right?)
In Carter's, the Easter dresses were out in full force.  I found some REALLY cute dresses. Lauren picked out her dress!  She wouldn't allow me to get a good picture when we played dress-up when we got home.
After nap, we went outside for Lauren to "unwrap" her early birthday present.  When we were in PA for Christmas, we talked about getting Lauren some sort of riding toy for her 3rd birthday.  Both sets of grandparents and Paul and I went in to get this for her.
Daddy showing her how to drive!
Lauren watching all of us instead of steering when she needed.
FREEDOM!!!!!!!
She needed a little help to get up the hill.
Helping Grandpa Wade pack for the return trip to PA.
March 5--I snuck in to see Paul and Lauren when Paul was supposed to be getting her dressed for school.  He already had done his part (it was pj day at school) and I found the two reading together!  Notice it's a Mickey Mouse book.
More pictures to come!
